Setting Expectations with Clients

When I established my first solo college advising practice, I offered an hour of free consultation services to each prospective client. I had a really tough time setting boundaries, and these meetings often went far longer than the hour initially allotted. I realized these consultations were taking up a significant amount of my time and energy, while resulting in very few signed contracts.
