I began assisting students and families navigate the college admissions process in 1992 as a College Advisor at American Sr. High, and then Michael Krop Senior High. After a decade in Miami-Dade County Public Schools I moved to the private school sector as a College Advisor at North Broward Preparatory School. In 2005 I began working independently as an Educational Consultant. Since then, in addition to privately assisting many families navigate the college admissions process, I volunteer in several arenas assisting students and families pro bono who need help. Currently I am a volunteer counselor with Scholar Match, under the umbrella of College Point, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, assisting low-income students with their college plans. My professional affiliations include National Association for College Admission Counseling, Southern Association for College Admission Counseling, Coca-Cola Scholars Program Review Committee, Miami- Dade Counseling Association, and Miami-Dade Association of College Advisors. I was a national delegate to NACAC for three years, have presented at numerous conferences, and was in the first group of educators to assist University of Florida in reviewing incoming freshmen applications. In 2004 I taught a graduate course as an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University – “College Admission Counseling.”
