I work with each student individually- in person or via phone, FaceTime, WhatsApp or WeChat- to develop an educational plan that brings each one from where he is now to the best possible school or college to maximize potential. Each step is important: careful selection of schools/colleges; a thoughtful approach to and preparation for campus visits; analytical assessment of final list; personalized testing schedule; detailed work on application and essays; strategic planning for application schedule, etc. One-on-one meetings are held very frequently throughout the process until the final school or college is chosen. Many students stay in touch even when enrolled. My philosophy is to seek to maximize each student’s outcomes. I encourage students to try for dream schools/colleges while also having realistic middle-range and back up plans. Every institution on the list is important. Mentoring is more than planning. It is inspiring, encouraging, challenging, and questioning. My hope is that each student finishes her work with me more confident and self-knowing, more comfortable navigating transitions, and more capable to reach her true potential. I have over 30 years experience working with students in college and school admissions and placement, and have worked with approximately 5,000 students in all.
