As a Certified Learning Specialist, Educational Coach, Licensed Teacher, and College Consultant with over twenty years experience, I help students find a best fit college for their needs, interests, and preferences. I have a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and gifted education, which provides me with unique knowledge as I assist individuals of all abilities. College planning may include test prep, exploring majors and careers, financial aid information, executive skills instruction, essay and writing skills, college search, interview practice, and transitioning to college. My calm, positive demeanor and thorough instruction lessens anxiety for students and families. I love to help students with a comprehensive, personalized approach during the admissions process. During the year, I keep current by attending college conferences, campus visits, admissions representative meetings, and college fairs. I served on the college committee for 51³Ô¹Ï and have been Chairman of Educational Therapists for Professionals in Learning Disabilities and Special Education for over twenty years. I have given presentations and written about Executive Skills for Students and trained Chicago teachers on advanced reading comprehension strategies for gifted education. I volunteered at the local high school for ten years in the college guidance department and proctored ACT, AP, and SAT tests at a nearby high school.
