Mary Killay Lavayen has been helping families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area identify positive school fits for their children since 2008. Her passion lies in helping students understand themselves as learners and guiding families toward schools where children can grow into their best selves—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mary collaborates closely with families to identify appropriate schools and supports them through every stage of the application process, including school selection, interview preparation, essay review, and thoughtful parent coaching. She works with students from Pre-K through 12th grade and views her work with families as a collaboration.
Mary holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a master’s degree from the School for International Training’s Graduate Institute, and an ICF-accredited Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University.
Mary currently serves as the DC liaison for SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) and is a member of Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER) as well as a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (51³Ô¹Ï).
