Garrett Educational Consulting (GEC) is a full-service academic consulting firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. With twenty-five years of experience in education, college counseling, boarding school admissions, learning styles, and executive functioning support, GEC delivers unparalleled guidance and support to students and families navigating important academic decisions. Services include complete academic advisement, college planning, independent day school and boarding school consulting, and SSAT Flex Test administration. Founder Katie Garrett is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in both Cognitive Studies and Psychology and earned her graduate certificate in Independent Educational Consulting through the University of California-Irvine. In addition, she has earned the designation of Certified Educational Planner and is a Certified Parent Coach through the International Coaching Federation. Katie is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association and Chairs the Charlotte chapter. She has visited more than two hundred college and boarding school campuses and meets with admissions personnel regularly to ensure that she stays abreast of the ever-changing landscape of education and admissions.
