Karen Lane DeRosa brings proven experience in instruction, communications, and administration to the students and families of Class 101-Dayton. Karen earned her B.S. degree, summa cum laude, in communications from Boston University and her M.A. in communication from the University of Oklahoma. Karen has been a college instructor at various colleges including University of Oklahoma and Miami University. With a genuine interest in each student’s unique skills and goals, Karen’s passion for teaching and learning translates to every college planning meeting. Specialties include test prep, career interest discovery, resume building, college list research, essay coaching, and scholarship discovery. Class 101 Rookie of the Year in 2019; Class 101 Franchise Growth Award in 2020; Class 101 Franchise of the Year in 2021 and 2023; Class 101 President’s Club since 2022; FBR Franchise Rock Star 2023; Unleashed Brands Community Impact Award 2025. Karen owns Class 101 Dayton with her husband Tony. Together they have four children: Sam, Theo (Miami University OH, Univ. of Cincinnati Law), A.J. (University of Chicago) and Belle (Texas Christian University).
