Alan Sheptin, a professional member of 51³Ô¹Ï since 2017, became a Certified Educational Planner in 2020. This certification is granted by the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners to consultants who meet stringent application requirements including a Master’s degree, specialized training, significant professional experience, involvement in professional organizations and the passing of a board-certified exam requiring both institutional and professional knowledge. Mr. Sheptin earned a BA in Computer Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
Prior to entering the field of education consulting, Alan was an Assistant Vice President and Actuary with Swiss Re, doing strategic planning for its US life insurance division.
Alan visits a minimum of 15 colleges annually and keeps current through professional organization meetings and conferences.
Alan’s first foray into education consulting was as an alumnus interviewer and evaluator for the University of Pennsylvania, eventually becoming Secondary School Chairperson for New York City where he worked with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to re-form the structure of the organization, enabling almost 100% of prospective students to be interviewed.
In addition to college planning, Alan and his team provide academic support and preparation for all standardized tests.
